We know this year has been especially tough for Kiwi businesses. Before lockdown, business confidence was strong, with 4 in 10 SMEs tracking better than the same period in 2019. However for three-quarters of SMEs (76%), the biggest challenge they faced was decreased revenue due to not being permitted to operate during Levels 3 and 4*.
In the true Kiwi spirit of getting stuck in and helping out, Smartpay looked to find ways we could give back to our customers whilst maintaining the same level of support and expertise they have come to expect from us. Despite the lockdown pressures, like many businesses, we wanted to stay positive and focus on getting this year back on track – we decided that this year would be “Our Shout”.
The “Our Shout” campaign was created for businesses that were hurting after lockdown but still hopeful about the future; we wanted to demonstrate our willingness to help and show our commitment to your recovery in a very tangible way.
For new customers and businesses starting-up, we offered 12 months free (on a 36 month contract), or free business assurance which means if the business stops customers don’t have to pay a cancellation fee.
For existing customers, we offered the chance to win free radio advertising to promote their business; we partnered with The Hits to secure radio advertising across New Zealand so we could shout out to our customers. Each month we drew 5 winners from across the country who received a radio shout out for one month. This included having their ads created for free
By the end of the campaign our 15 winners had their ads played a total of 80 times each, to an audience of approximately 400,000 Kiwi listeners across New Zealand.
