The Pre-authorisation app is perfect for hotels, car rental companies, clubs, pubs and anyone that needs to reserve funds from a customer’s card in advance for goods and services provided.
As the name suggests, the Pre-authorisation app allows a merchant to put aside a specific amount of money until the good or service is being provided. After which point the merchant can finalise the transaction.
This is a great way for merchants to reduce the risk of fraud, non-payment or insufficient funds with no inconvenience to their business or customers.

How to get started with pre-auth
Merchants must request Pre-auth (hospitality) functionality from their Merchant Bank before it can be enabled on their EFTPOS terminal. Pre-auth transactions can be performed on all scheme (Visa, Mastercard etc.) debit and credit cards.
