If you do not upgrade before 1st May 2017 you’ll be disconnected from the Paymark Network, meaning you won’t be able to take payment. There’s a lot more that goes on behind the scenes to just taking payment after a customer has presented their card to your EFTPOS machine. This is where all the exciting stuff happens. In the seconds between the cardholder pressing the enter key and the terminal screen showing your customer ‘Accepted’, your terminal has to connect to a payment network to shift funds from the cardholders account to your acquiring bank.
