SMARTPAY WINS POSTIE PLUS AND ABC LEARNING CENTRES UPGRADES
Tuesday, July 06, 2010

AUCKLAND, 06 JULY 2010 - SmartPay (NZX: SPY), New Zealand's leading retail services provider, today announced that it has won a further  two  corporate  deals to upgrade point of sale EFTPOS systems for nationwide retail chain PPGL (Postie Plus Ltd) and ABC Learning Centres.

ABC Learning Centres is upgrading to the latest version of the SmartPay Cadmus terminal range; fully compliant with the most recent Paymark security standards.  PPGL is installing the latest version of SmartPay's integrated SyncroPlus payment system which is also fully compliant with the latest Paymark security standards.  Both of these deals follow other significant wins for SmartPay's corporate team, including point of sale upgrades for Paper Plus and Mitre 10.

SmartPay recently announced the installation of a payment card industry data security standard (PCI-DSS) compliant Postilion switch providing the ability to market new value added services.

Ian Bailey, SmartPay Managing Director, says the upgrades for both companies are further examples of SmartPay's commitment to delivering value-added EFTPOS solutions to its clients.

"SmartPay's integrated EFTPOS solutions are a great fit for PPGL and ABC Learning Centres' business requirements.  We value the opportunity to upgrade their systems and demonstrate the benefits that SmartPay has to offer."

PPGL Ltd is one of New Zealand's largest clothing retailers and includes baby product retailer Baby City.

Claudio Ghirelli, PPGL  IT Manager says SmartPay's awareness of its customers' needs made the decision to upgrade to Syncro Plus an easy one.

"We had no doubt that our point of sale upgrade was going to come from SmartPay.  The advanced technology capabilities that Syncro Plus provides are excellent and we are pleased to be working with it.  It will be an asset to our business.

"SmartPay's latest fully integrated system will ensure that we will minimise transaction errors and can offer superior reporting from store level to management," Ghirelli says.

SmartPay's flexibility in POS management and integrated EFTPOS solutions ensure that both PPGL and ABC Learning Centres' business needs are well taken care of, Bailey adds.

"We work to ensure SmartPay can offer solutions to all types of businesses. Our business model and strategic plan is clearly working as we have over $8 million in corporate sales backorders in place for delivery this financial year. SmartPay is on track to meet its year end EBITDA guidance of between $7 million and $10 million.

"Taking these contracts into account and extrapolating our recurring revenues to the end of the year, less overheads for a full 12 months, shows that the company is already in a positive EBITDA position. This is a massive turnaround on last year's performance and confirms our strategy is paying off.  There are still nine months left in this financial year and we are looking forward to updating the market with further SmartPay successes."
