In-Store Video

Through investment and innovation Smartpay Cadmus have developed unique capability in the field of digital signage, or as we like to call it, Retail Radio with Pictures - reflecting the convergence of sound and vision. As display panels, computer hardware and Internet bandwidth have become more cost effective merchants are increasingly looking towards this method of communicating with and delivering and enhanced experience to their customers.

Marketing 101 tells us that an individuals recall of what they see is typically ten times greater than what they hear. The same theory also asserts that the human mind will typically exhibit a far greater response to audio as opposed to visual stimulus. Applying this to a retail environment the practical reality is that people walking around a store are far more likely to respond to the single audio input of In-Store Radio. In other words, the radio can talk to a hundred people at once and as such is a very effective tool at directing attention to screens, amongst other things.

Retail Radio's In-Store Radio with Pictures can be configured in two primary ways:

  1. An audio music and message schedule delivered to the store's sound system along with a "mute" slide show of still and or moving images delivered to the store's display panels (plasma, LCD, TFT)
  2. The same as above except some or all of the audio messages have related still or moving images. For example the audio track might describe benefits of a product shot on the panel. Alternatively the audio track could be from a television commercial on the display panel.

Both of these methods satisfy the cost-effective content challenge of digital signage by ensuring that attractive and eye catching images are on the screens at all times whilst the audio messages will either elaborate or call to action.
